Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should my child bring to class?

Students may bring their own clubs or borrow from our assortment of different sized clubs. We recommend that students bring a water bottle, hat, and wear sunscreen.

2. What if the weather is bad?

Denver’s weather is unpredictable. We will always try to hold classes and will not cancel until at least 10 minutes after class has started if dangerous or bad weather persists. When in doubt, come to class. In the event class is cancelled, a make-up class will be held immediately following the week class was supposed to end and will be held at the same time and same place unless you were otherwise notified. We will only hold one make up class per session. If we cancel a class, it will be posted on our Facebook page (First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains).

3. How does my child get certified?

There is no certification requirement for Level I to Level II, however participants must take Level I at least 2 sessions before moving on to Level II. In order for participants to advance from Level II to Level III, participants must take Level II for at least 1 session, then they are eligible to take the Level III Certification Skills Test. Participants must pass the certification to move to the higher level class; i.e. must pass the Level II certification to take the Level III class. If your child does not pass certification, they are welcome to try again (coaches will provide feedback on skills they need to work on) but will remain at Level II for their age division until they pass certification OR age out to the next division. These certification tests are scheduled outside of regular class sessions. To see our certification schedule to sign up, please visit our certification page. If you don’t know the results of your child’s certification test, please email [email protected].

4. Do you have drinking water on the course?

Please make sure you bring your own water bottle to class. You will be able to fill it up inside if necessary.

5. What class should my child take next?

Please view our class progression chart.

6. Can I play the junior courses at City Park, Wellshire, Overland and Willis Case with my child?

Yes. The courses are designed for kids, but adults who are accompanied by a junior golfer are welcome to play. There is no need to make a tee time and it’s free to play.

7. Can parents use the practice facilities while kids are in class?

Yes, adults are welcome to use the designated practice facilities at each course during their children’s First Tee classes. Driving range tokens are available for purchase in the Pro Shops. Please refrain from using the junior courses during First Tee programming.

8. How can I volunteer?

9. What is your refund policy?

Refunds requested 2 weeks before your participant’s first day of class will be offered a full refund. Refunds requested less than 2 weeks before your participant’s first day of class will be offered a credit for a future class. Terms and Conditions apply.
