1. What should my child bring to class?
Students may bring their own clubs or borrow from our assortment of different sized clubs. We recommend that students bring a water bottle, hat, and wear sunscreen.
2. What if the weather is bad?
Denver’s weather is unpredictable. We will always try to hold classes and will not cancel until at least 10 minutes after class has started if dangerous or bad weather persists. When in doubt, come to class. In the event class is cancelled, a make-up class will be held immediately following the week class was supposed to end and will be held at the same time and same place unless you were otherwise notified. We will only hold one make up class per session. If we cancel a class, it will be posted on our Facebook page (First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains).
3. How does my child get certified?
At the end of select classes participants will take The First Tee Golf Skills Certification test appropriate for that level of class. Participants must pass the certification to move to the higher level class; i.e. must pass the Birdie certification to take the Eagle class. If your child missed certification or is new to First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains, please check the website periodically for certification dates. If you don’t know the results of your child’s certification attempt or have other questions, please contact [email protected]
4. Do you have drinking water on the course?
Yes, water is available on the courses, but we strongly recommend that your child has a water bottle, particularly on hot summer days, as the structure of the classes does not allow for frequent trips to the water cooler.
5. What class should my child take next?
Please visit our class page by clicking here.
6. Can I play the junior courses at City Park, Wellshire, Overland and Willis Case with my child?
Yes. The courses are designed for kids, but adults who are accompanied by a junior golfer are welcome to play. There is no need to make a tee time and it’s free to play.
7. Can parents use the practice facilities while kids are in class?
Yes, adults are welcome to use the designated practice facilities at each course during their children’s First Tee classes. Driving range tokens are available for purchase in the Pro Shops. Please refrain from using the junior courses during First Tee programming.
8. Can we rent the junior course?
Yes. The junior courses are available to rent and are great for birthday parties or other special events. For pricing and scheduling information, contact [email protected].
9. How can I volunteer?
Visit our Volunteer Page.
10. What is your refund policy?
Refunds requested 2 weeks before your participant’s first day of class will be offered a full refund. Refunds requested less than 2 weeks before your participant’s first day of class will be offered a credit for a future class. Terms and Conditions apply.
11. How do I check my kid’s registrations?
When you log into your account.
You can see the classes your child is signed up for by scrolling to the bottom of your Dashboard. Then hitting the Dashboard button on the far right next to their name under the “Your Family” section. The classes do not show up under your name because you are not the one registered for them (your golfer is) so you must go to their dashboard. Then the classes will be listed there.
